BOSTON PICTURE HOUSE FILM POSTER SERIES

FALL 2025

TYPOGRAPHY
POSTER SERIES

18”x 24”
This poster series explores consistency, variation, and typographic expression through a unified design system created for Screen Club’s collection of film posters.

Built on a shared grid and visual system for a cohesive identity across the series while allowing each individual poster to respond to the specific themes, tone, and narrative qualities of its film.

A stable typographic framework anchors the series: the secondary text is consistently positioned and styled across all posters, grounding each composition and maintaining a clear visual identity. This reliable structure allows the display typeface to become the expressive element—breaking out of the grid, shifting in scale, gesture, and placement.

Color functions as another key component of variation. Each palette is drawn directly from the film itself, then heightened for contrast, alternating between warm-on-cool and cool-on-warm combinations to introduce energy and maintain visual interest from poster to poster.

The Screen Club presents a new film series at the Boston Picture House, showcasing films that blend unique visuals, imaginative worlds, and complex storytelling. Featuring works like Spider-man: Into the Spider-Verse, La La Land, The NeverEnding Story, Blade Runner, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Everything Everywhere All at Once, this series explores themes of transformation and time while immersing audiences in groundbreaking aesthetics and layered narratives. These films are known for their distinctive style and thought-provoking exploration of human experience, making them iconic in the world of cinema.”

Prior to finalized film series, Spirited Away and Inception were part of the set by the Screen Club but due to Client’s inability to secure the the film’s rights, they were changed last minute!
