EXHIBITION PAMPLET

SPRING 2025

TYPOGRAPHY

16.5”x 8.5”
This accordion pamphlet for Marlon Mullen’s MoMA exhibition draws directly from his bold, expressive style. Known for reinterpreting existing imagery through vibrant color and lush, painterly surfaces, Mullen’s work informed the graphic elements—forms that mimic brushstrokes. The typography features subtle irregularities to reflect the organic texture of his paintings, extending his visual language into the design.

The layout invites viewers to engage with his art first, presenting a spread of Mullen’s reinterpretation before turning the page to reveal the original source.

A key feature of the pamphlet is to provide viewers with something tangible to take home. The back of the pamphlet features a full-page reproduction of one of Mullen’s works, designed to be suitable for framing. Similarly, the inside layout mirrors the way his work was presented in the exhibition, allowing it to also be displayed.
